The Starstrone Sky

I stand beneath the starstrone sky,
In the darkness of the night,
A lonely hill, grey in the dark,
A darkness you can feel.

The stars the spin, they move around,
Before my wondering eyes,
Stars not fixed but thought to be,
Stars like dancing fire flies.

And spin they do, but all return,
To their course across the sky,
These pin pricks move yet stay quite still,
In the darkness of the night.

No wonder all the ancient times,
Spirits and gods they were,
Always present, always watching,
But never holding still.

Ancient secrets painted plain,
Above for all to see,
Yet few do see and less do know,
The secrets painted there.

The singing song, the lonely dance,
Of the stars in darkest night,
The tales they know, the things they’ve seen,
And no one knows it all.

Here I stand, they dance around,
I see the sacred plan,
The whirling castle, the Well of Stars,
And all that is drawn to them.

I stand beneath the starstrone sky,
In the darkness of the night,
A lonely hill, grey in the dark,
A darkness you can feel.

Kiss of Darkness, Kiss of Light

Kiss of Darkness, Kiss of Light
By Muninn’s Kiss
(2012-12-30)

Kiss of darkness, kiss of light,
Kiss of coldness, kiss of heat,
Kiss of dreaming, kiss of stars,
Kiss most innocent, at the heart.

Kiss of secrets, kiss of ways,
Kiss of lost things, kiss burned away,
Kiss so deep, kiss so bright,
Kiss most intimate, at my core.

Kiss of beginnings, kiss of all ways,
Kiss most storming, kiss of change,
Kiss to remember, kiss of Fate,
Kiss most knowing, all I know.

Kiss of dawn, red rimmed with pink,
Kiss of sunlight, as west meets east,
New beginnings, and magic spawned,
Kiss of awakening, by dawn’s early light.

Kiss of noonday, of brightest light,
Kiss of sunlight, across the land,
At fulfillment, and solar heat,
Kiss of wakefulness, by noon’s bright light.

Kiss of dusk, violet rimmed red,
Kiss of starlight, as the sun sets,
Time of fading, but secrets wake,
Kiss of changes, by dusk’s last flame.

Kiss of midnight, of blackest night,
Kiss of moonlight, in heart of night,
Time for witching, and power strong,
Kiss of magic, by night’s dark cloak.

Kiss of power, kiss of strength,
Kiss of secrets, kiss of lies,
Kiss of wisdom, kiss of truth,
Kiss me now, time between times.

A Story Told

A Story Told
By Muninn’s Kiss (2012-08-17)
A figure stands in red and black,
Before a black stone altar.
She does not move, does not act,
Does not so much as stir.
The deed’s been done, the knife has dropped,
The thread is already cut.
A life is done, the story ends,
Her role has all been done.
A figure stands all in black,
Dark robes hide his face.
His bone white hands as cold as death,
Stretch forth to welcome home.
A book is open in one wraith hand,
Chained firmly to his wrist.
His wings outstretched as black as night,
As he reads the final words.
The knife is sheathed, the book is closed,
The cave quiet like the grave.
The traveler waits for she knows not what,
Before the Gates of Death.
A laughter comes from a blood red veil,
Joined from a pure black hood.
Skeletal hands reach out, pull wide,
The Gates that all must face.
Blinding light, brighter than the sun,
That blind the traveler.
Darkest dark, that can be felt,
Brings a chill to every bone.
First one step, and then another,
She walks toward the gap.
And slips on past to death’s embrace,
Where Light and Darkness merge.

The Womb of Night

The Womb of Night
By Muninn’s Kiss

In the deep dark Womb of darkest Night,

A Child is born by Dawn’s new light,
He grows and grows as seasons pass,
First real thin but getting fat,
And as time passes he comes to age,
A bright round face both pale and fair,
But then he fades and loses weight,
Thinner with each passing day,
Til death does take him in the night,
The Womb of Night his final Grave.

The Year is Drawing Nigh, a Samhain poem

The Year is Drawing Nigh
A Samhain poem by Muninn’s Kiss
As darkness fall, the veil thin,
The year is drawing nigh.
Shadows lengthen, gather strength,
The year is drawing nigh.
The dead they stir, and look around,
The year is drawing nigh.
Tonight they walk, tonight they dine,
The year is drawing nigh.
The sinks down, she’s dying now,
The year is drawing nigh.
Beneath the hills, the dying sun,
The year is drawing nigh.
Hollow hills, they open wide,
The year is drawing nigh.
Faerie folk, the mighty dead,
The year is drawing nigh.
Samhain’s fires, burning bright,
The year is drawing nigh.
To dance around, in death’s embrace,
The year is drawing nigh.
Ancestors dead, some long gone,
The year is drawing nigh.
We tip a glass, we place a plate,
The year is drawing nigh.
Death stands up, tonight he reigns,
The year is drawing nigh.
In darkness strong, the dying year,
The year is drawing nigh.
The revelers grow deathly quiet,
The year is drawing nigh.
All knees bend and all tongue stilled,
The year is drawing nigh.
For Death takes all and all will come,
The year is drawing nigh.
The Gates of Death, they open wide,
The year is drawing nigh.
His face you meet, at Death’s great doors,
The year is drawing nigh.
A friend, a judge, a lover, a blade,
The year is drawing nigh.
His embrace is sweet, but deathly cold,
The year is drawing nigh.
In love he strips you, bone from bone,
The year is drawing nigh.
Nothing left, you pass beyond,
The year is drawing nigh.
The veil it parts, the doors swing wide,
The year is drawing nigh.
Your last strong breath, last orgasm,
The year is drawing nigh.
And through you go, to what’s beyond,
The year is drawing nigh.
But Death’s great doors and Life’s fair doors,
The year is drawing nigh.
What’s dead and gone, will be reborn,
The year is drawing nigh.
A new breath breathed, a new day dawns,
The year is drawing nigh.
Death to Life, he takes your hand,
The year is drawing nigh.
All is gone, but all in new,
The year is drawing nigh.
The new dawn’s sun, in the east,
The year is drawing nigh.
The cold it flees, the shadows hide,
The year is drawing nigh.
Dark Samhain’s night to new year’s light,
The year is drawing nigh.
What was dead has come again.

Night’s Wind

Night’s Wind
By Muninn’s Kiss

The dark surrounds,
Enfolds,
Fills all,
Hides all,
Secrets and mysteries,
Danger and terror,
Peace and calm.

The wind blows,
Out of the night,
Out of the darkness,
Moving hair,
Moving leaves and grass,
Pushing,
Pulling,
Something alive,
Something strong,
Like a hand,
Grabbing,
Taking,
Trying to take.

Is the wind the darkness?
Is the darkness the wind?
Dark wind,
Night’s wind,
Fair Nyx lost in shadow,
Reaching out,
Grabbing,
Taking,
Trying to take,
A wind on skin and hair,
A darkness that can be felt,
Hungry,
Consuming,
Dark wind,
Night’s wind.

From Her Mother’s Sacred Skirts
By Muninn’s Kiss

There she stands,
In the midst of Space,
God Herself is here.
Great Mother of all,
The sacred Womb,
From whom we all have come.
Robes of Darkness,
Deepest Night,
All stars shine from it.
A thousand suns,
A million lights,
Upon Her sacred skirts.
In Her Pleasure,
Life conceived,
A child is born today.
A baby girl,
A wild one,
Young Nimue coming forth.
In the midst,
Of darkest Night,
A little girl comes forth.
Nimue’s seen,
Beneath the skirts,
Peaking out at us.
Slowly stepping,
Out to us,
From her Mother’s sacred skirts.

Snows of Winter, Heat of Summer

Snows of Winter, Heat of Summer
By Muninn’s Kiss

Snows of Winter, heat of Summer,
Two times, two worlds.
The Twins, they dance.

Winter King, in darkness reigns,
Death and darkness, ice and cold.
A crown of thorns upon his head,
Clothed in shadows, hidden light.
Magic dark and waning sun.
Tettens, Woden, Hermes stalks,
From the Castle of Weeping comes.

Summer King in brightness reigns,
Life, rebirth, light, and heat.
Winged crown, light rebounds,
Clothed in fire, born in light.
The sun it rises, warms the land.
A Child is born to warm our hearts.
Lucet, Lucifer, Morning Star,
Riding forth on wings of the morning.

The Twins, they dance,
The passing year.
Light, then dark, then light again.
Two Kings reign, both to die,
Two grooms for oh blessed Night.
Life and Death, Light and Dark,
Ever changing, ever the same.
Snows of Winter melt and thaw.
Heat of Summer takes their place.
Out of darkness shines the brightest light.

Sophia Stood in Darkness
By Muninn’s Kiss

“I was formed long ages ago,
at the very beginning, when the world came to be.
When there were no watery depths, I was given birth,
   when there were no springs overflowing with water;
before the mountains were settled in place,
before the hills, I was given birth”
Proverbs 8:23-25

Sophia stood in darkness,
Her voice rang out to me.
I walked with her in darkness,
Her arm was around me.

She placed her feet before us,
Each step brought light to me.
Creation formed behind us,
With each step the world was made.

Her tears flowed down around me,
They washed me in their light.
Her sorrow raw before me,
I want to dry them with a kiss.

Her beauty ever flowing,
From deep within her breast.
She cannot see that beauty,
But it’s there for all to see.

We stop when we have made it,
We turn to see what came before.
Creation stretches behind us,
For in the journey, the world is made.
